Summary
Jason couldn’t quite stop the hitch in his breath as Dick buried a hand in his hair and used the grip to tip his head back so he could deepen the kiss. Jason reacted in kind and slipped the hand that had been on the back of Dick’s neck up into his hair as he tightened the arm he had around the other man’s back. Dick shifted some of his weight onto his other forearm, so he wasn’t completely crushing Jason into the bed, without breaking the kiss.
But Jason couldn’t help but tense up as Dick ground his hips against Jason’s thigh.
Dick pulled back, breathing slightly faster than normal through his swollen lips. “Not tonight?”
“Not tonight.” Jason echoed. “Sorry.”
Dick just smiled softly as he readjusted how he was lying over Jason so his hips weren’t touching him anymore. “I thought I’d already told you to stop apologising, Jay.”

Summary
“Chum” Bruce says and his tone is a bit forlorn, Dick can hear the conflict-the emotion or even the lack of it. “I love you, son” It sounds fake, like it’s scripted speech coming out of a inexperienced actor’s mouth. He knows Bruce and he doesn’t mean it.
Dick feels alone, he never should’ve agreed with Bruces’ rules and should’ve just left for the titans, at least with them he would feel welcome. At least he would feel their love, not the overbearing lectures Bruce gives Dick, not the sidehugs and microexpressions that Dick overanalyzes just so he can come to the conclusion that he’s loved.

Bruce sent Dick off to college in hopes of him getting a degree against Dick's wishes. Dick wants Bruce to regret his decision and Bruce wants Dick to be better than him when he was younger. They both make mistakes.

Words with double meanings, it seems that every language except his mother-tongue is full of them, unnecessarily perplexing but undeniably fascinating. “I thought I knew what that word meant, but I do not recognise it in that context.”
“It’s short for asexual.”
In biology, asexual refers to reproduction without congress. Here, context is enough to provide him with the double meaning. “I do not experience attraction as other men do. Are you ace?”
Doll laughs softly. “Loaded question, my large friend. If you smash a mirror, are the shards still a mirror, or are they something new?”
