Summary
Some friends have started a weekly writing group! Together we are working our way through "Save the Cat! writes a novel" to plan our stories using the beats described in that book. This is a collection of scenes written for that writing group, shared here for a slightly wider audience. All of the scenes are intended to eventually be part of a full-length novel, so consider this a series of previews.
Tibba lived his whole life in the upper canopy of one of his world's largest jungles. But when he discovers large patches of his home mysteriously dying, he must travel beyond the borders of his treetop home and into strange lands inhabited by even stranger creatures such as dwarves, elves and humans. Fortunately, he does not have to travel alone on his quest. With the help of a blue-scaled Tssrrn named Dimos, who is almost as good at getting out of trouble as they are at getting into it, Tibba will travel to strange lands in search of a cure for his homeland. Along the way, he might just discover that the wider world isn't as worthless as he thought...

This one is a little bit of a cheat - I already had a 3k word proto-chapter mostly written for the novel I'm working on, and used this prompt to add an extra k to the end of it.
Our heroes have hit a dead end in their quest to find somebody who can help solve the problem of Tibba's home jungle dying of a mysterious cause. Deciding to try and cheat a little, Dimos told Tibba about a portal spell that they know that will take them to the Halls of Destiny, where mortals who find the place are allowed one glimpse into their futures, once per lifetime. Maybe they can learn something about what's to come that will get them back on track?
