Summary
Cloud is the new bassist of Vortex, an up-coming band in the myriad that are competing in the Battle of the Bands. He is blunt & cold to everyone, even his bandmates. In fact, he doesn’t speak much and barely gives anybody attention. But when Full Bloom needs a guitarist real bad ‘cuz one of the members can’t perform, he gets all awkward and clumsy around a certain singer named Aerith.
Yeah, that totally breaks his aloof persona and that’s just what the singer wanted all along.
At times, he’s like a daffodil — sweet, fragile yet resilient at the same time. Ready to embark into something new, clumsily flourishing in her hands as he laughs highly like nobody else ever sees him. In those moments, she wonders why her? What was it about her attitude that made him open up like leaves of yellow daffodils?
Slowly plucking the loose strands of her hair behind her ears and leaning closer with the prudence necessary (if not more than). He expected nothing from her at all and if she had to guess, he would’ve never been disappointed if she rejected him.
But she could never oppose him.

He nodded briskly, as if to assure himself. “I’m good.” But he made no motion to step forward.
“Well…” She drew a deep breath and let it out slowly, sweeping her fingers from the crook of his elbow to the place where his forearm disappeared into his glove. Lingering outside these imposing doors would’ve been more than fine with her, but she needed this moment of closure, and she knew he needed it, too. “Better not dilly-dally, right?”

After returning home for good, Cloud takes Tifa to a place of memories. They decide it’s time to put the past to rest and make some of their own.

Her warm hands took hold of your wrists, pulling them towards her as your body followed her direction. You almost flew into her chest but she moved ahead of you, dragging you into the middle of the room. You let out a surprised gasp at her sudden action but hesitantly followed her steps.
"Jessie?" You called out to her over the blasting music, hoping to hear an explanation of her hasty actions. "You'll see!" She let go of your wrist as she bent over, her face meeting yours as she stuck her index finger pointed upwards with a teasing wink.
From the corner of your eye, you witnessed Cloud sighing, and letting himself get dragged into the middle of the room by his childhood friend. He was pushed towards you, stumbling slightly before standing upright once again. He was standing next to you now, an arm coming up to scratch the back of his neck awkwardly. The gang roars in excitement as they begin pointing upwards.
Your eyes slowly travel upwards, a mistletoe was lazily hung up. Your eyes instantly widened at the sight and your heart dropped, it felt as if you were suddenly hyperaware of all of your senses.
Both you and Cloud were... standing under a mistletoe.

"I see you... staring at me... sometimes." Your heart flew out of your chest as you felt your dignity drop down beneath the ground. You hung your head down, staring at your feet. The compilation of embarrassing moments you shared with the boy before you played inside of your mind, tormenting you with every second that passed.
"...Sorry." You let out sheepishly. Humiliated and afraid of what was about to exit his mouth next. The loudest sound in the room was your heartbeat, filling your ears as you became a bit dizzy, holding onto the counter beside you for support.
After being caught staring at the charming yet, cold dork that was always found on his own on campus, you found yourself met with a collection of humiliating moments. You caught yourself falling in love with the boy along the way, even when you spent days with your head down studying, you still couldn't get the heart-warming thoughts of him out of your mind. Feeling dejected that the good-looking male was always surrounded by other women, you couldn't find the confidence in yourself to approach him. That was until one day, your best friend, Aerith, had left you alone in the chemistry laboratory.

The world is recovering after the horrors of the Clone Trio and Deepground, Sephiroth is once more buried in the past... or is he? Hidden notes of Hojo's experiments have been discovered to exist but hidden far and wide, revealing that the data archived with ShinRa and stored in Nibelheim, may have been purposefully falsified to prevent reproduction of Project S. Various individuals seek these notes depicting the first tests, and the origin of the experiments, subject 00. Cloud is in a race to track down these notes before they, or 00, fall into the wrong hands while waging his inner battles against Jenova's whispers and Sephiroth's puppet strings.
Hojo is alive against all odds, and had been living a covert life after his 'death'. Cloud outweighs his fear and hate for the man with his more recent realizations that demon was now a mere man and he needed Hojo. However, Reno reveals not merely Avalanche's true frightening core, but also a bit of an unexpected office camaraderie he held with the scientist, further revealing the more human aspects of both men who worked for ShinRa. Cloud finds it confusing, but curious.

Day 6: Proof of Life – Screams from Across the Hall
Cloud shot up, startled awake by what could only be the muffled sound of gunshots and a bitten-off scream from across the hall. It took five seconds too long before his sleep-addled brain caught up with the present, every synapse in his brain firing in a panicked frenzy as he registered what the noise was.
He scrambled out of bed as fast as he could, ditching the thin sheet he’d been using as a blanket and ignoring his clothes, only going so far as to grab a knife he kept with his pack before hauling it to the door.
Whoever they were, he could certainly fight them in his skivvies with no problem.
