Summary
Balloon was selfish, pathetic and nothing more than a waste of air - yet…yet Suitcase cared so much about him. Nickel wouldn’t have cared that much, well - more than usual - if Balloon just kept his ground with Suitcase. If he hadn’t been so manipulative…and once again selfish. It was the small things Nickel noticed first, Baseball shooting small glances in Balloons direction, then it was small talk, and soon the two were hanging like they were best buds. Like just a couple months ago they hadn’t hated each other's guts. Whenever Nickel would complain about it, Baseball would sigh and give him a look. Nickel could see the guilt in his eyes.
But for so long, he couldn’t understand what he was guilty of - other than friending the person Nickel had hated so much. And yeah, Nickel agreed he should feel guilty for that and he glared everytime Baseballs eyes caught his when he was talking to Balloon - but it was more than that. It had to be, the way the two were suddenly buddy buddy - the way they looked at each other - all of it made Nickel sick. Part of him felt like it was an anomaly, something that shouldn’t have ever happened.
