He sighed tucking his phone back into his pocket. He returned his focus to Scott, whose eyes were far away drifting- and he should have known that yesterday's events would lead to this. Should have known that Scott was still affected by the things that happened when they were younger even though he pretended like he wasn't.
Because that's what Scott did when he was upset, he pretended. He would confidently parade about with a stupid grin on his face where everyone else was perpetuated frowns, he would crack the joke that lightened the mood- he would be the one to make others smile. But who made Scott smile? Stiles didn't know. So instead he tried gently putting a hand on Scott's shoulders, when no reaction was given he knew what type of day this would be.
They all had it, days that would go by like they were asleep, the events that passed imperceptible to their senses. Lydia calls it disassociation, Stiles just calls it floating. Scott was floating. Likely lost in a cacophony of inescapable memories, so all Stiles could really do was wait for him to wake up.
