Summary
After years of suppressed feelings and yearning, Mikasa and Eren finally got together and made their relationship official with the intention of it being long-term, serious. She believed that Eren would be the father of her children. Eren thought that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her.
So, Mikasa was more than surprised when he arrived at her doorstep, his words feeling like a slap to her face.
“This isn’t working out.”
The following moments were taken up by them embracing each other tightly, Eren leaving, and her crumbling to the floor as soon as the door shut behind her and sobbing quietly.
During the next few weeks Eren and Mikasa weren’t speaking at all, her and Jean had seemingly gotten closer, with him often coming over to her house. Their friend group collectively decided that if they weren’t in a relationship, they were sleeping together. Eren hated it, and he felt like throwing up whenever he saw them together.
