When Miles kissed her in the Council of Counts, Ekaterin felt like a time-lapse orchid, growing and greening and blooming all in an instant, and living all the while on nothing more than air. Here's an answer for your question, Nikki, she thought, a pang of love passing through her like a shiver. I am going to jump, after all.

Summary
The men in the village have hurried ahead to fetch their instruments and the music is already filling the air by the time the bride’s camel arrives at the village center. Many voices join in the song as the whole community gathers to celebrate. The song finishes, and the old man leading the musicians starts up a new rhythm. Several men form a line and begin dancing.
The young boy watches them in their long white clothing, bouncing on their heels to the beat. He bounces in place, trying to imitate the way their shoulders bounce without moving their arms. His older siblings and cousins tease him for his floppy arms.
Or, Roach reminisces about how weddings were celebrated in the village where he grew up, and learning to cook from his grandmother, mother, and aunties.

Summary
Of all the brilliant ideas the Senate’s come up with, a Core World dance troupe performing for the men for “morale” was up there on Wolffe’s list of Stupid Things Politicians Do. Still, the reprieve is nice. That is until he’s confronted with some ugly truths about his armor…and his dancing abilities.
“I’m sure you can infer what happened next. They destroyed everything. Eight thousand years of history. Burned.” Mirjala murmured. Her voice, however soft, commanded their attention entirely. “We begged the Republic for aid and, to their credit, they did give it to us. They got rid of the extremists, stopped the riots and the lootings and the burnings, on only one condition.”
She opened her eyes. Staring straight at Wolffe, he suddenly felt naked. Perceived.
“May I see your vambrace, Commander?” She inquired politely.
