Yasu stared at the enthralled and very obviously drunk hero with hooded eyes.
"What can you offer me?" she asks dryly, wondering why, of all heroes, she chose the hobo-looking one to hypnotize. She should have just stuck with the no-name one two alleys over.
The man mumbles incoherently. "I can get you into UA. That's what kids your age want, right? To be a hero?"
Yasu laughs. "I'm a con artist, honey. And I like stealing things." She holds up his wallet mockingly, and the man's hypnotized mind skips over the object with ease. "What makes you think I want to be a hero?"
"The pay?" He offers blandly, reaching to his potent cup of black coffee and taking a large swig of the contents. "It pays well, or so I'm told. For limelight heroes, anyhow. So? Do you want to be a hero? I can get you in on recommendation if you'd like. You won't even have to take the entrance exam."
Yasu pauses. She promised herself that she wouldn't, but...
