“Tav.” As Halsin tested the sound, she knew it was safe on the back of his throat. Her name was dead everywhere else, but what a lovely grave his tongue marked, the shroud in which it rested. "I can see how it wouldn't fit the elegant woman you are now. Nagini suits you better. A serpentine allure and a sharp, captivating presence. A name that sounds beautiful in any tongue."
Her lips curved into a genuine smile, the kind that she reserved for him. "Yes, it's a graceful one," she agreed. "I like to think that my name is like a silk dress, in a way. Smooth, elegant, and comfortable to wear."
Halsin grinned at the fluidity of her nonsense. He found that perhaps the most disarming, ethereal beauties in this world were also the most eccentric; it didn't make anything about her pale, but rather highlighted everything that belonged to that strange world in which the bard reigned supreme.As Halsin helps a group of adventurers, he finds his dormant heart stirring for the party’s leader, a tiefling whose charm has been crafted to perfection from her profession as a courtesan and her bardic skills, and threatens to awake feelings that have stayed unperturbed for the last century.
