Not only does his contract leave no room to quit, but he's afraid that if he breeches contract, his life would be on the line. On top of that, the body he's supposed to be guarding, Jim Starling's fiance, Charity Loveatte, is constantly flirting with him. If his employer finds out, there won't be a piece of him left bigger than a quarter.
Charity Loveatte shops and flirts and pretends to be clumsy and vapid, and she hates it. All she wants is for Drake Mallard to quit. She doesn't need a bodyguard. All she needs is twenty minutes of alone time to find Negaduck's bank records or break into his safe, but she can't do that as long as Drake Mallard is watching her.
Jim "The Negaduck" Starling is the scariest mob boss the world has ever seen. But what does he do when he finds out his fiance is making googly eyes at the new bodyguard? You'll have to read and see.
