Summary
On Michael’s sixteenth birthday, he gets his soul marks. One is his soulmate, and the other is his mortal enemy. They both wind up the same name; the name of the self-appointed king of the world. He immediately hides them and tells everyone he never got his soul marks. But on his eighteenth birthday he is robbed and stabbed, then rushed to the hospital where his soul marks are seen. His life is flipped upside down quickly, and he is sent to the palace to be with his soulmate. This is VERY against his wishes, and he is loud about making it known.

The squip was supposed to be dead. That was something they knew for sure. Their systems were shut down, every line of code erased.
So you can imagine their surprise when they woke up hacking up a bunch of clear fluid.The tube thing drained as the squip coughed, looking at their hands and breathing.
They looked at their hands. Covered in electrical markings and flesh. They held their head, memories of their computer life racing through their mind as other memories started bubbling.
Memories of being taken off the streets.
Memories of horrible, horrible experiments and modifications on their brain and body.
“A subject is awake!” a voice said. They breathed heavily, brain whirling with a million memories and feelings and pains.
The fluid in their lungs came up and they expelled it at their feet. They couldn’t see.
Everything was so blurry.
The tube opened. They stumbled out and onto their knees.
“You shouldn’t be awake. Not like this.”
The squip learns that they were never just a super computer. They wonder if they were ever human.
