Summary
Sometimes Edwin VanCleef wanted to believe in luck. The odds of crossing paths with Mathias Shaw once more had been low, especially when both were so far from their respective reigns. Edwin was now an outlaw, someone who had been forced to leave his home, the very city he built, in a desperate attempt to save his own life; and Mathias had stayed behind. After all, he knew better than anyone what kind of path he had chosen, even when it had proven to be a lonely one.
Their last goodbye had been anything but sweet, their past love crushed under the weight of his respective duties and allegiances.
Of course, neither of them couldn't help but try to seize an opportunity when it presented itself.
