Summary
Peter Parker is eighteen, broke, and half a step from falling through the cracks of Gotham. A Gotham Prep scholarship keeps him in a uniform, the LexCorp internship keeps him busy, and the warehouse job keeps him fed, mostly. None of it keeps him safe.
When LexCorp handed him a lab coat and a keycard, he told himself it’s just for the summer. Just another line on a college application. Just another door to push open.
But the city has other plans. Shadows move behind the glass towers. Names like Superman and Batman float above his head while the real weight presses down in alleys and subway tunnels. A kid alone doesn’t last long in this place, unless he makes himself into something that can.
Peter’s always been good at holding things together by a thread. This time, the thread might hold him too.
