Summary
A revisionist au utilizing the characters from TLOK but in a vastly different setting with drastically changed conflicts. Take everything you know about the setting in TLOK and chuck it in the garbage. This is totally different. There is no republic. There is no 1920s New York City-esque place in which the story unfolds. This is sticking to a setting far more reflective and attached to that of the original Avatar The Last Air Bender. Also for purposes you will soon see, this entire story operates under the notion that Korra has to take time to learn each element rather than being gifted with them out of the gate as was done in the main show.

Sokka sat up and brushed the grass off of himself. He blinked once he got a good glimpse of the man in front of him, he was instantly taken aback by how attractive he was. The man’s fair skin and dark hair resembled that of Izumi’s, so there was no mistaking that he was her father, but what caught Sokka’s attention the most was the man’s eyes. Sokka has never seen eyes that were pure golden in his entire life, but looking in the man's eyes was like looking in two golden drops of sunlight. Maybe the sun came out after all, Sokka heard himself think.

Ever since the Fire Lady died in childbirth, servants claim that the palace was haunted: at night, the air grows colder in Princess Izumi’s nursery, the scent of jasmine wafts through the windows, and some would go so far as to say they have seen a woman with flowing black hair in the gardens.
As the Fire Lord wallows in his grief, he remains deaf to the cries of his newborn daughter. Mai knocks some sense into him from beyond the grave.

In the final segment of the story, Azula's son Zoryu and Ty Lee's daughter Aoi have a baby girl, Izasa who just firebent for the first time. When Zoryu goes to tell his wife, he finds her packing her things. She's separating with him for putting Azula's wishes before her and their daughter. Next, we find Zoryu and Ty Lee taking care of a sick Azula. At 90 years old, her sanity is starting to slip, and decides she needs to make one last ditch effort to gain an immense amount of power for her and Zoryu.

Zoryu, the Commander of the First Division of the United Forces, watched as Iroh II climbed the ranks faster than he did. Tenzin and the rest of the Republic City council denied Zoryu the role of Admiral twice, resulting in Zoryu retiring in shame. Zoryu's three bastard children and their respective mothers arrive, and Zoryu has to face the fact that he has been a deadbeat dad all their lives.
