All’inizio del ventesimo secolo, Damiano David si ritrovò senzatetto nella bella città di Venezia. Scappando dal suo passato e dal suo trauma e cercando di sopravvivere, scoprì mezzi di sopravvivenza aiutando il signor Amadeus, un venditore di libri malato, nel suo pittoresco negozio di libri di seconda mano. I soldi erano limitati e Damiano dovette far affidamento su un altro insieme di abilità per mantenere il suo reddito costante. L’ondata di turisti nella città gli permise di continuare la sua piccola vita di crimini durante l’estate, ma nella stagione morta dell’inverno, era forzato a tagliare i costi del suo sostentamento e a trovare riparo in edifici abbandonati. In una di queste occasioni trovò un abitante inaspettato in uno dei luoghi presumibilmente deserti. Inoltre, un misterioso sconosciuto tornò a Venezia e Damiano era stanco di avere questo personaggio minaccioso attorno.

Made an outcast by the Roman Emperor after the horrible defeat in the Teutoburg Forest seven years ago and never allowed to return to Rome, Damiano and the legionaries that survived the battle against Arminius are living a miserable life in a small camp in the Germanic wilderness, far away from any Roman civilization. When he learns that the Marcians keep the lost Eagle of his butchered legion, Damiano's desperate enough to ask Ethan, the young Alpha chief of the Mattiacers in the village near his camp for help.
Ethan agrees to help him retrieve the Eagle during the harvest festival that will take place in the Marcian settlement, but his help comes with a prize Damiano has to pay publicly. With nothing left to lose, Damiano reluctantly agrees to surrender to Ethan in the great assembly hall in front of all Mattiacers and his own legionaries and accept Ethan as his First Alpha.
Deeply traumatized after the lost battle Damiano has avoided any kind of touch ever since he escaped the horror with barely his life, so why does it feel so good to be touched by the barbarian Alpha who seems to look straight into his wounded soul every time their eyes meet?

I am back with another piece from my little saga about Centurion Damiano Davidus. This idea’s been brewing in my mind for the past week or so and today I finally managed to give it a name. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I do writing it and don’t find it repetitive.
Centurion Damiano Davidus has been fighting the Messapians with unsteady success for the larger part of three years. After many conquered settlements and territories, he’s been growing tired and impatient to go back to his home back in Rome.
Ethan of the Messapians has been studying medicine before he was captured and thrown into the slave wagon and taken away from his land and his craft.
Please, be aware that this is a work of fiction and it’s not historically accurate.

At the beginning of the 20th century, Damiano David found himself homeless in the beautiful city of Venice. Running from his past and trauma and struggling with his survival, he discovered his means of survival by helping out Mister Amadeus, a sick book salesman, around his picturesque second-hand book store. The money was tight and Damiano had to rely on another set of skills to keep his income steady. The flood of tourists in the city allowed him to continue his little life of crime during the summer, but in the dead season of winter, he was forced to cut the costs of his living expenses and find shelter in abandoned buildings. On one such occasion, he found an unexpected inhabitant in one of the supposedly deserted places.
On top of that, a mysterious stranger returned to Venice and Damiano is weary around his menacing persona. -
