Summary
“I... I didn’t mean to do that!” Merlin stammered, his voice high with panic. “I—I just wanted to think more clearly!”
Arthur let out a rather unimpressed meow and swiped at Merlin’s hand with a fury that made it very clear that no amount of apology was going to undo the embarrassment of being turned into a cat. He was not pleased.
Merlin, flustered and confused, tried to set Arthur down on the floor, but the moment the cat’s tiny paws touched the stone, Arthur darted right back into Merlin’s arms. The king’s new feline form nuzzled into Merlin’s chest, purring with an almost imperious insistence, demanding something Merlin wasn’t quite sure he could give.

Merlin accidentally turns Arthur into a cat. While searching for a way to turn him back, he carries Arthur around in his arms, and the knights quickly realize the cat is just as demanding as the king himself. Even after he's back to normal, Arthur refuses to leave Merlin’s lap.
