Nie Mingjue huffs out a laugh at that question and something twists unpleasantly in Jiang Cheng’s stomach but it relaxes again when Nie Mingjue speaks.
“How much time do you have?” he asks in return and Lan Xichen scratches Jiang Cheng’s scalp.
“It doesn’t look like we’re going anywhere any time soon,” he replies and Nie Mingjue settles further down into the couch, his hands warm and comforting on Jiang Cheng’s ankles.
