The fountain in response only reflects himself and leads him to his friends, eventually Albert decides that he doesn’t want his past and what it took from him to define him and chooses to triumph over it and focus more in the present than the past and that even if he doesn’t have a known biological family he realises that he is still able to build connections that are as strong/stronger than the conventional idea of family “The blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb” sort of thing.
