Summary
Andrew learned to start at the edges.
Build the border first, so nothing spills out.
Keep the noise low, the walls high, the hands to yourself. The world keeps talking about soulmates, about red strings and perfect fits, as if the universe still had time to care. Andrew doesn’t. He’s seen what happens when people put faith in promises.
Therapy is a sentence, not salvation. The community center, another kind of trial. The medication, a haze laid over the parts of him that still burn.
Days fold into one another, therapy, silence, the same four walls, the same chipped mug of chocolate that never tastes like anything. He smokes when he shouldn’t, works out when he can’t sleep, counts the hours until the next session. It’s not living so much as waiting for something to stop.
Until a man with too many names and borrowed eyes, all scars and steady calm, starts appearing in every corner Andrew’s tried to keep empty.
There’s no thread between them. There can't be.
But maybe some connections don’t need to be written in skin to leave a mark.A story about boundaries, touch, and the slow, quiet work of being known.
