Summary
This is a collection of Encanto one-shots I've written- many of them will be angsty because that's what I prefer to read and write (and let's be honest, the Madrigal family needs a LOT of therapy) but there will be a healthy dose of hurt/comfort and fluff as well.
Most one-shots will be post-movie.
I'm hoping to write for a myriad of characters from the movie- though it's worth noting Isabela is my favorite. <3
Any chapters that need a warning will have them written out in an authors note before the one-shot, please read with caution.
I'll be taking requests so please feel free to comment any ideas you have that you'd like me to take a crack at writing! I will NOT write smut, but anything else is fair game. -

Dolores always knew her favourite uncle was living in the walls of Casita. She remembered how it was before he left. She missed him and so she always visited and kept him company, finding a moment of quiet and freedom from the responsabilities.
Camilo could only feel like himself (herself?) when in Mirabel’s company. Mirabel could only feel free from her stigma in Camilo’s company. It has been difficult since her fifth birthday, and recently it kept getting more difficult for them to be together, but they made it work somehow.
But when Mirabel found out about Bruno’s vision before talking with her tìa Pepa about her tìo, she began pulling back from the family. And that would not happen

Character driven with emphasis on his relationships with his sisters, and eventually his nieces/nephews/niblings and Alma. Basically Bruno is the best boy, everyone is queer including Bruno, and everyone is traumatized :D

Bruno has two kids, Maria and Mirabel. However, after he disappeared, they thought it would be better if Mirabel didn't know about her father.
Maria's jealously towards her unknowing sisters life fuels her to find out more about her parents and reunite her father with the family.Loads of idiotic family moments and fluff - also some really dark stuff

Dolores hears everything, from a pin drop, to a chorus a mile away. She hears every death, every child's first breath and every messed up event around her. She hears her uncle in the walls, slowly growing more lonely as time goes on, she hears her brother's struggles with his identity, she hears her cousin Isabela's rants on marrying Mariano and she definitely hears Mirabel's sobs and prayers, wishing that she had a gift. Dolores is DONE doing nothing, she may be a mess, but she refuses to let her family collapse and she won't let Mirabel follow in her self-destructive footsteps!
But what she doesn't acknowledge is that maybe she's the family member who needs help the most...

Its been a year since Bruno has gotten back with his famila, and its been great! It's a bit overwhelming all the attention he gets now, he lived in the walls for ten years, I mean come on, give him a break. Still Bruno loves his family and still tries to help out the town where he can. Unlike the rest of his Familia helping around he is not as openly accepted, hey remeber when Bruno killed that fish? If people ask for prophecy Bruno almost always says no, the town folk wonder why he is even back, after a year of hearing no from Bruno, people have finally stopped asking.
One evening at a town festival Bruno finds this blind man who, despite his condition, is quite excitable, always moving, and always has something to keep himself busy. The two quickly seem to become friends... meaning that besides his familia, and his rats, this is Brunos first friend in a long time. With Dolores talking about her and Mariano, Bruno quickly comes to the realization that maybe he does not just feel platonic affection for his new friend.
But if he can't trust his prophecys to be accurate and decided... can he trust himself?

Encanto had been a safe haven created by a miracle in order to protect the Madrigals and their people. For decades, the tall mountains that guarded their home shielded them away from all the horrors waiting outside; no one to enter, no one to leave. Encanto was the Madrigal's home as it had saved Abuela and her children from meeting the same fate Abuelo Pedro did when he sacrificed his life in order to give his family another chance. They had everything they needed within their Encanto, and after the family had decided to better themselves for the sake of their happiness, all was good. But Isabela felt like there was something missing. She felt suffocated in the small town she lived in; thankful for all it's done for her and her family, but unable to shake the feeling of wanting something more. But everyone knew that it was impossible to leave Encanto, the same way it was impossible to enter it. So when Isabela comes across a strange girl from outside of Encanto with knowledge of a world full of wonders her mind couldn't comprehend, she is made to choose between protecting her family and the home they have built, and being with the girl who changed her entire life by offering her the world in the palm of her hands.

Physical Pain can be healed with something as simple as a good meal, at least in the Madrigal house-but Emotional Pain? That takes time. One dance and song can’t fix everything. A day of bonding can’t fix a ruined relationship. Welcoming someone back after 10 years isn’t going to be easy. Nothing happens in a day. People relapse, new pains appear, days feel like nothing ever changed-but things will get better. With time and dedication.
