It takes a moment before Annette’s face breaks out into a grin, and she lets out a soft laugh of surprise. “What a surprise, Hapi..! How nice to see you…”
“Well, great to see ya too, Annette,” Hapi says, shaking off her shock as she grins at Annette. She tilts her head. “Where were you headed off to? Am I interrupting–?”
“Oh, um–! I, um, was actually coming to see you…!”
“Oh?” Hapi tilts her head the other direction. “Well– ain’t that a lovely surprise! I was actually coming to see you as well.”

Well I heard Lysithea baked him a cake. How obvious!
But he took it. So it worked, right?
I still think we’re all barking up the wrong tree. Did you see him and Sylvain yesterday outside the Lions’ classroom? Intricate rituals.
Everywhere Annette goes she hears gossip about Felix’s love life. She doesn’t know why, it’s not as if Felix is some great catch, just because he’s rich, and handsome, and will be a Duke one day.
So why does it bother her so much that none of the rumours are about her?

You just haven’t found the girl for you, Glenn used to say, fondly ruffling Felix’s hair even after he was more than old enough for it to be mortifying. He always scoffed when Glenn said that, but his brother only smiled knowingly. She’ll catch you hook, line, and sinker, and you won’t even realize it.
His brother was full of bullshit romantic notions like that. Glenn thought that there was a perfect match for everyone in the world, a soulmate who fit into your life like a missing puzzle piece. Felix was quite certain he’d just watched one too many romcoms.
(Or, Felix meets a girl while out fishing and realizes his brother was right all along. Sylvain makes it his personal mission to ensure the lifelong happiness of his best friend.)

And why doesn't Annette avoid him, after he's clearly been so villainous? Their friends seem to know all the answers, and yet no one is providing any explanations.
A fanfic dedicated to the idea that Felix was sweet on Annette before their C-Support, and all the fun that ensues as their relationship unfolds.

The Archbishop–Byleth–gave a firm nod. “He’s very much real, Dimitri. But right now, he needs to rest-”“But how do we know if it’s him?” the man pressed. “How do we know it’s really him? How do we not know it’s the same people who assumed the role of Monica and Tomas? How do we know that he won’t stab us in the back and kill us all?” The man focused back onto Glenn. “I say we strike now, before he has the chance to heal and get back to full strength. Destroy the seeds of tragedy and despair before they get the chance to sprout.”
Glenn, if it was any other circumstance, would’ve gotten angry, and reply with his own remark. Maybe even fight if he was physically able to. But one detail made his mind spin, made his whole world pause and destroy everything that he thought he knew or understood.
