After the impact of Dark magic on their armies in the war against Xadia, the other kingdoms apply pressure on Katolis to ensure a repeat offence doesn't occur. As a result, Callum's tasked with assessing the danger of any artifacts King Viren left behind in the High Mage's chambers. Only, Callum falls mysteriously ill after the work commences, and coming off the back of a plot against Ezran, they can only assume the Crown is being targeted again.
“Why would they go after me?” Callum asks, like Soren can’t be serious. “Ez is the king.” Callum leans back like that settles the matter.
Soren softens, “Exactly.” He comes closer, brushing a hand over the wood of his father’s desk. His chest pangs. “You’re not the king, so you’re an easier target.”

“We could get creative!” Exclaimed Callum, slashing his hand through the air.
Ezran, Soren, and Opeli exchanged a look
“I don’t know,” said his brother hesitantly “We already have the prison with us, I don’t think Aaravos can escape, so why waste time going for the Nova Blade?”
“It’s not wasting time, Ezran,” said the mage more severely “Let’s call it a backup plan”
“It’s a violent plan if I may say. Aaravos can’t get out on his own, so he needed Claudia and Viren, now he’s out of reach from them, nobody here would want to set him free, we’re safe Callum.” Ezran was using his kingly tone on him, which only helped to make him feel more anxious, his brother wasn’t understanding anything.
