Summary
When the Empire attacked Phoenix Gate, they had but one goal. To kill the Archduke and the First Shield, and secure the Phoenix for Sanbreque. But their plan fails, and Rosaria remains in the hand of Archduke Elwin and his second son. Thirteen years later, the Empire is once again stretching her hand towards the duchy. But unbeknownst to them all, a branded soldier in the imperial ranks does everything he can to finally return home...
An AU / Canon Divergent story, where Elwin and Joshua both make it through Phoenix Gate, while Clive still falls into imperial hands...
