Gummigoo snorts, pushing himself up off the bed. “Doesn’t sound half bad. But, uh…” he pauses, squeezing his chest belt uncomfortably as Pomni waits for him to finish. “Can I talk to you ‘bout somethin’ first?”
Pomni crooks an eyebrow, her mouth forming a pout as she sets her hand of cards down. “Uh, sure, yeah. What’s up?”
Gummigoo leans up against the nearest bedpost, crossing his arms before promptly unfurling them and shoving them in his pockets. This isn’t an interrogation, he’s asking out of sheer curiosity - and definitely a bit worry as well. “Pom-Pom, what’s this chit-chat I keep hearin’ ‘bout an exit?”

“I-I, um…” her voice cracks. She turns to look down at her lap, her fists curling up further. “I’ve just…had a lot on my mind…lately.”
Gummigoo simply nods.
“I-It just kind of - just kind of happened, and now I - ” she pauses, a wet clump sticking to the back of her throat. Oh for fuck’s sake, is she choking up already? “I can’t stop it, I’m - ”
She takes in a deep, uneven breath, arms quivering. Even just glimpsing at him, Pomni can see the concern etched into every inch of Gummigoo’s expression.
“I’m…not sure if I’m…me.”
Gummigoo raises an eyebrow. “…’Fraid I’m not pickin’ up what you’re gettin’ at, luv.”
“I-I - I’m not sure I’m a human."

Summary
Pomni knows something is up when she awakens in the middle of the night with throbbing pain in her stomach and proceeds to spill her guts over the side of the bed. She had thrown up multiple times before in the Circus, but it was always either due to motion sickness or extreme distress. Illness didn’t exist here, as far as she knew, and for that the random onset of nausea was baffling.
(Or: Pomni has no idea what's coming her way when she suddenly falls ill.)
