Each chapter was written so they can be read as a standalone or read together to tell an entire story. This story was originally written in 2014 and completed in 2020.
This follows MSR beginning with "The End" in season five all the way until post season 11. It is canon compliant. The continuity in the storylines always bothered me, MSR deserved more than to become an x-file. This is a result of that nagging and a labor of love.
This story is part of a larger series (titled Rooted in Friendship) that begins pre-season 1 and covers every episode of the X-Files up to Season 11 and then beyond into its own universe.

Hollywood is ritz, even The Land Of Movie Productions. Mulder and Scully remind themselves of these things once they are there for the word premier of Wayne Federman's picture. The Lazarus Bowl. It does them well to hold on to these factors and every other amazing appeal of being in such a historical area of The United States' west coast. Our heroes are both recovering from recent traumatic events back home that have changed their lives. Permanently. Now they're in California for leisure while also examining their pasts and their futures together. Just what does it mean for them at this exact critical juncture of life? Only that anything is possible.

What if Mulder went to look for surveillance footage to prove that Jeffrey Spender was conferring with the smoking man, and ends up witnessing Scully’s behavior in the parking deck instead? He has to figure out what led her there, and then he has to figure out what to do about it.
