Title kinda sums it up. I did the math and if Ryan is 17 now then it makes sense.
If you haven't read the Kidsboro books, you probably should they're actually kinda great, but the TLDR is that when Ryan was 8 he and his mom fled town to escape his abusive dad but then years later his dad shows up, breaks into their house, claims he's found Jesus, then turns himself over to the police.
