A strange, garbled shriek of distress comes from the nearby river.
Pearl jumps up, takes out her diamond axe, and runs towards it. “Hello?”
As she comes closer, her mind whirls with fear over the possibilities. She can’t quite recognize the voice, which means it could be anyone. Someone could be dying, and she doesn’t know who. She has to stop it. She has to save them–
She stops in her tracks at the edge of the river. Okay. This isn’t what I expected.
The distressed voice belongs not to a player, but to an enderman. It’s trapped in a boat in the middle of the river, trembling and screaming. Pearl isn’t sure how it got there or why, but she can tell it’s terrified.
Leave it, Pearl tries to tell herself. You got two people killed in Double Life by looking at an enderman. These things are dangerous. It’s more trouble than it’s worth.
She wants to walk away, but she can’t make her feet move. Her last thought echoes in her mind. It’s dangerous. It’s more trouble than it’s worth.

Techno gets these episodes were he needs to protect someone. It’s usually Phil who has to deal with the overprotective piglin hybrid. But Phil’s gone for the day and the voices shout at him. Shout at him to protect. And so he turns to Ranboo. He didn’t mean to wake the poor boy up so early in the morning. But he was his friend. Someone Techno knew deserved protection.
And now Ranboo is stuck with a overprotective Techno. The thing is, he didn’t even know it was happening. He just thought they were having breakfast.
