Summary
If everyone lived in space, they could become Newtypes. Space was the great equalizer. Spacenoids would no longer be shunned or feel the terrible burden of extremist laws; they would be welcomed everywhere. Gyunei, the failure of a Newtype, would be welcomed anywhere. As the Supreme Leader’s wingman, he could prove himself.

Gyunei Guss was a survivor: Cyber-Newtype enhancements, the Axis journey, a failed civil war. Was that why Char chose him, because he always found a way to survive? How else did a pathetic Cyber-Newtype with a mediocre battle record catch the eye of the mythical Red Comet? Whatever it took, Gyunei would prove himself to his captain over and over again: he would make sure Char Aznable survived to usher in the Neo Zeon Republic.(Basically CCA through Gyunei's eyes. Slight canon divergence as I pick and choose between High Streamer, CDA, CCA: BC, CCA the movie, and UC Engage.)
