Lorsque Watson se réveille, Holmes a des comportements affectieux (tels des baisers) avec lui, lui laissant penser que cela fesait déjà partie de leur relation avant ce qui a causé la blessure de Watson, ce qui n'est pas le cas. Holmes fait cela car il pense – d'après ce qu'il lui a dit avant d'être conduit à l'hôpital – que Watson souhaiterait ce développement de leur relation. Il explique tout cela à Watson.

One of Holmes' actions could be construed as manipulation. When Watson wakes up, Holmes engages in affectionate behaviour (such as kissing) with him, leading him to thinking that this was already part of their relationship before the event that caused Watson's injury, which is not the case. Holmes does this because he believes – from what he told him before he was taken to hospital – that Watson would want this development in their relationship. He explains all of this to Watson.

It’s 5 am and I’m crying screw you. One this was a fantastic case fic and two fuck you for making me cry. This is get recommended because those emotional beats man the TENSION, the scene of them on the sets I could see so vividly and it was so tender and intimate and hot??? So many fics really knock it out of the park in sexy and can be quite tender but I think this one is just a cut above the rest, it’s got serious drama, sexy scenes, and heartfelt intimate moments it’s a total package ain’t it? 10/10 will be coming back to this one

Watson turns in earlier than normal and Holmes decides sometime thereafter to join him. He assumes they will spend the extra time entwined in a cozy embrace with light kisses being exchanged. With those hopes in mind, Holmes heads to the bathroom to complete his evening ablutions.
What he did not was to be greeted by the arousing sight of Watson bent over. One hand grips the tub's edge and well the other is busy elsewhere. He has a perfect view to take in the sight.
