Summary
Smoke hissed out of the gun, but... nothing else happened.
Jinx frowned, staring at the weapon as if it had betrayed her. “Oh, rats! Is now really the time to malfunction?” With a shrug, she tossed the gun into the nearby trees.
Blondie blinked at her. “You’re completely unhinged, aren’t you?”
Jinx gasped, clutching her chest dramatically. “Oh, I definitely should’ve thrown you back in the water. Nobody comes to my island and gets to sass me, Blondie!”
“Your island?” Blondie muttered, her tone dry. “Didn’t realize crazy had jurisdiction.”

Lux isn’t sure what holds more mysteries: the island she washed ashore on and its strange… inhabitants, or her blue-haired “savior”. Either way, it’s clear Lux’s only chance at survival is with her so-called savior, and maybe—just maybe—she can unravel the stranger’s secrets. If only she doesn’t break first.
