Sometimes, on the really bad nights (these were when a great tragedy took place or for those nights where Peter really messed up), he wouldn't speak a single word. No matter the night, May would wait up for him all by herself in her living room. And then there was the night where Peter crashed in through his window with a child curled up in his arms.

They made an incredible team and even Strange had to admit that he was proud to see how well they moved together once they figured out how to dodge each other’s webs. He saw out of the corner of his eye when the teenaged girl had fallen off the platform -when one Peter couldn’t reach her, another took his place without a second thought, driven by the deep need to do the right thing.
Of all the people in all the universes, of course it’d be Peter Parker who’d make the best teammates with himself, Strange thought with exasperation and fondness.

Andrew!Peter had been lonely before. Had been grieving. Had felt abandoned. Had felt rage, shame, guilt - every single self induced torture he could (or not) manage. But now…. After his little multiversal adventure… It was so much worse.
If he didn't know before how to gather his pieces together and assemble them back, in order for him to be a functional version of Peter and Spiderman, then now, he was sure he wasn't able to.

Peter Parker Two spat out a mouthful of blood – right up into the tall, orange alien woman’s face. She growled, wiped the blood off with her gloved hands, and flicked her fingers so that it flew down to the deck of the space cruiser’s torture cell. The alien rotated the blade stuck between Peter’s seventh and eighth ribs, then yanked it out with the same speed and force with which she’d stabbed him. Peter couldn’t hold back a scream. He wrenched on the cuffs and chains holding his arms above his head, but they didn’t budge. His feet were on the floor, but he was too weak to stand on them. Blood oozed from dozens of slashes through his Spider-Man suit and constellations of bruises covered his pale skin.
“I do not like to repeat myself,” said the black-eyed alien in a deep, eerie voice. “Tell me where the Eternity Gem is.”

Peter 2 gently bent down near the table and observed the very small child. It was somewhat dark; so he could only see oversized glasses accompanying the glossy eyes and hear hiccuping under the desk. He didn’t know how old the kid was but he sounded far too young.
“Hey kiddo, what’s wrong? How did you get in here?” The kid started hiccuping some more which made Peter 2 instantly reel back and soften his voice even more. “Hey, hey, you aren’t in trouble, it’s okay. I just wanna make sure you didn’t get lost bud. Do you know where your parents are?”
The child crawled out from under the table, similar outfit, memorable hairstyle and a slight conclusion had the Peters struck with a realization.
“Oh God, Otto?”
“W-who are you?” His voice squeaked, his small hands pawing at his eyes as tears slowly started to fall. “I wanna go homeee!”

Despite her guarded personality and killer instincts, Natasha finds herself becoming more and more entwined in Peter Parker's life. At first, Peter was a nuisance, but now he's family.

"Why does he hit us?" Peter whispered one night a few months after he entered the foster system, cuddling up to his brother on the top bunk of the bed they shared. Harley rolled over and met Peter's big brown doe eyes. Peter was only a month or so younger than Harley, but the kid looked like, well, a kid. He was short and scrawny and had the most adorable set of eyes that only one person seemed immune to, their foster father. Harley didn't have the adorable factor that Peter seemed to possess, instead, he was a few inches taller and lanky and had cold blue eyes that appeared dead to the world. Harley closed his eyes and sighed.
"Because he can," Harley said in a voice that relayed that he was simply tired. Not the sleepy kind of tired, just the tired-of-the-world kind of tired. Harley had been in the system since he was eleven. Peter had gotten in two years ago when he was thirteen. Both of their families had been murdered (Harley's by aliens and Peter's by your common mugger). It had been one of the first things they morbidly bonded over, other than the abusive foster dad, of course.
(And the secret vigilanteism because apparently both were bit by a spider at Oscorp.)

The stars shine clearer in this part of Queens and Miles feels their glaring judgment. He may as well be sixteen again, in a hand-me-down mask and a BV robotics club tee shirt, web-shooters a little too tight on his wrists.
Peter hadn’t given him a speck of mean judgment then and, of course, he doesn’t now.
“Just couldn’t sleep,” Miles explains quietly. His venom has stubbornly calmed, for now. He can’t say the same for himself.
