Following the perspective of Sylas, a mage imprisoned for the crime of practicing magic, and his unlikely ally Luxanna (Lux) Crownguard, a Demacian elite.
Sylas was only 14 when he was sent to the Demacian dungeons for being a mage. A bookworm at heart, he lost everything. Everything except his anger.
It was seven years later that he was granted trial. When the judge refused to hear a single plea, Sylas snapped—a surge of magic bursting from his body and freeing him from his shackles. Cutting down anything in his path in the name of his mage revolution, Sylas was eventually restrained and imprisoned once more. Although, not before mortally wounding Garen Crownguard, Jarvan Lightshield IV, and the King himself.
Day after day, Luxanna watches mage after mage be rolled into the dungeons, caged like animals. Some look furious, flailing and digging their feet into the ground. Others are sad, begging and pleading to be released. Others.. are simply broken. They never fight back, not against the hand of Demacia.
Luxanna wants change. As uneasy as her common ground with Sylas may be, it may be enough to bring change to Demacia.
