Summary
After the events of Sonic 06, the day is saved and Solaris is defeated! All that remains is Mephiles, but what to do with him? Well, Shadow gets the bright idea to put him on a path to redemption; he goes to therapy! Surely he can be fixed. Surely Mephiles' mental state isn't worse than Shadow expected. Surely the fact that Mephiles is a wanted criminal won't be an issue. Surely everything goes smoothly, and SURELY Shadow will not bond with the most mentally unstable person alive.

Summary
Mephiles thought the Scepter of Darkness was miserable, but now it pales in comparison to being stuck in nonexistence. In the abyss, he's been reduced to nothing but a conscience. He'd give anything to have his body back... not that he has anything to give at all.
But fate isn't done with him. Maybe it'll grant his wish for its own amusement.
