Summary
Spock begins to wonder if his relationship with Jim has been one-sided in his own favor.
An old married Spirk fic written for the K/S Valentine Calendar. This story actually started and evolved from this anonymous writing prompt on tumblr: "Old Married Spirk where Jim teaches classes at Starfleet and Spock is an ambassador. Spock goes to visit Jim in his office and finds a student with a bit of a teacher kink being a bit too forward with Jim. Spock finds a streak of possessiveness he didn't know he had."

I say, "Ask me anything, Spock," for perhaps the fifth time.
This time, you respond, your gaze bright and penetrating, "Perhaps you could satisfy my curiosity in--one particular."
"Of course," I say enthusiastically.
You seem perfectly calm as you ask, "How long have we been lovers?" And I am certain I have heard you correctly, even as I struggle not to allow my astonishment to show on my face.

Summary
A complete series of episode reviews written after re-watching all three seasons of Star Trek (the original series) between 2011-2013. Each review consists of a plot synopsis (rendered as entertaining as possible) followed by analysis/reflection. These reviews were originally posted on LiveJournal. I am crossposting them here, where it is much easier to keep the whole series in one place.
I first became a fan of TOS in the 1980s when I was an adolescent girl. I am now a middle-aged lesbian who, let's say, knows a lot more about gender issues than I did back then. There will be some discussion of same. If you're not interested in gender politics, you might not have a whole lot of fun with these reviews. If you are, though, you may discover that gender in TOS is actually more complicated--a Vulcan might even call it fascinating--than it might at first appear.
I love the show, but I do not love it uncritically. I believe there is much to be learned by asking the question: Exactly why and how did this particular episode get this bad?
Oh, also, I see slash people. But in TOS, believe me, it's there. And not just because we want it to be there, either. Enjoy!

Summary
Spock had risked his life over and over to save Jim’s throughout their time together, just as Jim had done for him. And now, as the crimson light of red alert had overtaken the building and bright white emergency beacons flashed, he stared down at this pendant in his hand and thought how this risk was more than justifiable. It was necessary.
A story about love, loyalty, healing, and the pendant Spock refused to leave behind.

Bookmarker's Notes
Kirk and Amanda talk about what it's like to love a Vulcan, and Kirk comes to the realization that he's been starving Spock of what he needs. Kirk rectifies the situation, and the two men bond.
This author understands the characters very well; she also writes very well. Great character insight, beautiful writing, and stories that are sweet without being saccharine. One of the very best.
