Summary
In Edo period Japan, Gyutaro and his sister Ume are merely surviving in the suffocating streets of Yoshiwara. If you can even call it surviving.
While making his way through his life, Gyutaro keeps running into a girl, Juno, who shows him empathy and the power of books. After getting inspired by a story she read in a book long ago, Juno reveals that she has been planning an escape from the dirty streets for years now to a temple many miles away that accepts and loves the freaks like them who don't fit in with society.
All she needs is help, and offers the debt collector and his prostitute sister to help her, a half-breed transgender, while they can.
[THIS IS STILL IN BETA! expect major changes to happen to the first chapter and any other I post. I am working on it. Also please give any advice/constructive criticism you feel is needed to make the story/characters/interactions/dialogue/ ect feel more real. This is my first fic, and I want it to be good]
