Summary
Barry is a post grad archeologist studying at Fabula Machinatio University and after finding a cool ritualistic dagger (lodged into their abdomen by a trap they tripped while exploring ruins for their doctoral thesis) they find themselves with little choices but to use their arcane knowledge of a long dead civilization to ask the goddess of the moon for help (in not bleeding to death).
Their surprise that it works is overshadowed by their surprise they've been turned into a woman, a Starchild to be precise. And the return of a long gone protector of the weak starts to undermine the more modern religions and upset their gods. Barry must now pick a new name and identity to hide their sudden magical girl status and do what they can to earn their doctorate now they've become a living exhibit of the culture they were studying.
This story has been adapted from a collection of stories about the rise and fall of the 3rd age of the Tyrian Colonies. The vast majority of sources for which were found in a crater in the Gobi Desert along with what could best be described as futuristic DVDs, fossilized pocky and a single working Betamax tape serving as the Rosetta Stone of the collection.

How do you successfully save the world?
Well, for one thing, if you haven’t saved anyone yet, you don’t proclaim yourself a saviour and mount expeditions to a place where no one has ever returned from, only to provoke monsters into destroying your whole kingdom. Now other people have to fix this mess for you.
This is a classic fantasy adventure in a world with elves and dragons, and the main characters travel far and back (and possibly save the world), with a sprinkle of romance.
Gulnara, a cleric and mage, is looking for her sister who was a member of an expedition to the Eye's Rest. She hires Hanna, the only person who many decades ago managed to survive a journey to that very place. Except, very soon Gulnara learns that Hanna isn’t a ‘half-elf’ by her birthright – her mind is plagued by an ancient elf that once wanted to save the world.
Now they must travel together and save themselves from the answers they seek.
