I've always thought that Kane and Abby needed a proper backstory.
The Ark is a small space station - it's only logical to think that they would have spent years working alongside each other, living nearby, sharing friends. This is that story. Pre-canon but true to the events of the show, be prepared for enemies to lovers yearning and misunderstandings. Riddled with (hopefully not too on the nose) parallels and missing scenes.

Summary
Casey King was a day from turning eighteen when she and the other ninety-nine juveniles aboard the Ark are sent to the ground. Their lives are sacrificed to determine if the rest of their people will survive the journey down.
On the ground, Casey is reunited with best friend, John Murphy, and is separated from her mother. She is desperate to keep her family together, but ever since she was arrested it seems she struggles to do just that. Especially when she comes across the man who she claims to have ruined her life: Bellamy Blake.
Casey struggles to find her place in the group as she and Bellamy go head-to-head in their ideals on what they should be prioritizing to survive. However, they are quickly surrounded by those survived the initial bombings on Earth and have to find a way to maintain peace before they end up killing each other instead.

While he can’t say that he actually cares all that much about the other “delinquents” he’s been living next to for several years now, something about the way the guards are emptying out the entire incarcerated population sends alarm bells ringing in his head. No one will tell them what’s going on, but as they’re marched out of the Sky Box and through heavily-guarded corridors of the Ark, he does know one thing for sure: this won’t be ending well – for any of them.

It is still wrapped around the the show the 100 its just been flipped that they were there closer to the time they were in the books because it makes more sense as to why theres a whole different type of people on the ground who don't remember before the apocalypse and use a whole new language. And it means that the ark is bigger like it is in the books. -
