He would not allow himself to cower, “Well yes. This whole situation in the Middle is a bit strange. Beasts appearing in Courts despite High Lord wards, an ancient witch stirring up trouble. It could get chaotic. I am glad we are all meeting about it tomorrow.”
It sounded stiff. Too professional. But maybe it was better to be too professional than too familiar? He wasn’t sure.
Elain shrugged and peered through the oven door, “It won’t get that bad. There are much worse things yet to come.”
