There were twelve eyes, they counted, some attached to weaker nerves than others. Some would have to be fixed, some would have to move, and there would always be one that had to go every time. They knew that eyes, in a human body, are not recognized as being there, and can be attacked by the immune system if discovered. They should not have had those eyes. They had done nothing to earn them.
