“Thank you for all this. You’ve made… the past two weeks a lot easier,” he admitted softly, looking down at his arm and flexing his fingers. If anything, the injury had brought them closer. Keith hoped it would stay that way.“Of course, Samuri,” he murmured. “Me and you against the universe.”
A soft lull came over the room, mostly because Keith could tell Lance was getting tired. He was too, to be honest. Learning to sleep in unconventional places was nothing new to Keith but it was still odd to be in someone else’s bed. To be in Lance’s bed.
“Me and you against the universe,” he whispered, repeating the words as Lance’s eyes closed.

All you have to do is observe the future, pinpoint where and when the potential ended up buried forever, and return to stop the same from occurring in your future.
There is no point in changing the future you will see, for that is already set in stone. Observe what has bloomed and grown, find the root, and leave the future to flourish on its own.
For beauty is subjective, and perhaps there is someone beyond our time that sees an incompressible perfection in the future we deemed unexplored.”
With those words, Queen Masari held the drink out to Keith, and, for a moment, the black paladin stared at the drink in genuine wonder.
Was it really a good idea to just leave his team behind like this?
or the one where Keith was sent to the future for a week or so to find whose potential was left buried and find the cause of its wilting. (Why was Lance not by his side?)

His blue eyes are reflected from the little amount of moonlight coming through the front door, and all Keith can think of is how he used to lose himself in them anytime their gazes locked. How they would be so full of affection and adoration. Whereas now, they're wide and worried— yet no less beautiful. His heart clenches at the sight of him.

Until the boy comes out of his stupor and is letting go of Keith like he's just burnt him. He stumbles backwards and almost hits over a potted plant in the dark.

“What game do we play?” Lance asked quietly, defeated. It felt wrong to put the choice on Keith, they were both as clueless and taken by surprise. But Kieth always had a plan, whether it was reckless or not. If any of them would know what to do it would be Keith.
“A simple one. We’ll play with just one marble. Whoever gets it closest to the wall wins” Keith gestured to the brick wall near them.
“Who goes first?”
“You. You’re numbers lower” he reasoned logically. Emotionless. Too caught up in facts and reality to let the vulnerability of the situation show. It annoyed him. Unfortunately, it was just like Keith to disconnect and make it easy for the others to hate him.
In a way, that was the nicest thing Keith could do in the situation.
