Summary
There’s nothing standing out. He’s an ordinary teenager, a typical junior, a shy nerd. He never speaks, except when he’s asked a questioned. He has two friends, George and Daniel. He has two brothers, but he’s closer to his younger one, Arthur. In spite of this facade, Charles hides his well-buried deep down in his soul secrets that nobody, besides his family and, maybe, George, is supposed to find out. His trauma and his passions are locked in his imaginary safe.
On the other hand, there's another monegasque who's a rising pop star, famous for both his voice and his looks. He’s very outgoing and ambitious. God knows he’s really passionate about this career too. Nothing out of the ordinary. But, he never speaks about his family or his school, even though it is officially stated that he goes to a public high school. He’s never seen out, even though paparazzi haunt him down like vultures. He’s a very private person.

“It’s okay, Charles. He’ll never hug you like he hugs Daniel, anyway,” Lando grinned.
“You guys won’t even spare me in my birthday week.”
“Oh, stop crying about it, please. We know you love it.”
Max turned to Charles and smiled at him then, a warm smile that turned his blue eyes like the sea water in Charles's hometown that summer, lapping at his feet and grounding him. “True. I do love my life right now.”
That shut Charles right up. He just let his head fall back on Max’s shoulder, focusing on the screen in front of them. He hoped one day he could say the same.

Max genuinely thought he was in love with this boy, that he had started falling in love since the first day they’d met, and that feeling triumphed far over any others.
Charles opened his eyes just enough to glance at Max’s lips. Tears fell out the corners of them, and Max wiped them away with his thumb. Charles sighed, and softly tugged on Max’s arms, urging him to move closer.
And when their lips met, it felt like Max was coming home, and he knew that Charles would always be different from any person he would ever meet on this earth.

They’re both watching him with affection in their gaze and suddenly it occurs to Pierre that Charles no longer feels like his alone, he feels like theirs.
The realization should shake him to his core, all he’s ever known is Charles. There’s never been anyone else and he always thought there never would be. But now, as he sits in this overcrowded that he can’t remember the name of, he knows that now there is someone else. There is Max.
That doesn’t mean there isn’t Charles. There will always be Charles, but now it’s both of them. Pierre wants to wake up with both of them, he wants to walk side by side with both of them. He’s always believed that he didn’t fall in love with Charles, he walked into love with him. But he knows now that he fell in love with Max.
And somehow, he immediately knows that Charles has done the exact same thing.
