Summary
The world might be dangerous and chaotic but Mel likes to plan and hope. She plans for a family with the man she loves but he can't stand the pressure and tells her the truth. Lost and shaken after this and the events in Jackson, Mel finds solace in her work and friends. In particular in Nora. Mel slowly learns that in reality she is now free to choose a different path from the one she initially set for herself.

Who shovelled their walkways on snowy days, who made Viktor tea when he was sick, who missed his mother’s pozole and had been trying to replicate it ever since he moved out, who cried during sad movies and sad songs, who always found a reason to affectionately touch Viktor.
