Summary
As it turned out, Rusty was persistent.
It would have been ideal for Raven to have never seen him again. Then they could have at least tried to forget about him, or, failing that, relegated him to the same status in their mind occupied by the other Vespers—occasional allies, but still corporate vassals. Usually mere annoyances.
Whether he meant to or not, Rusty had other plans.
Raven is alone and desperate. Rusty pulls them into his orbit.
