“Do… what exactly?” she asked.
“Educate you on all things music,” Max said as if it were the only possible answer. “On orientation day you didn’t know Thinking Out Loud. Anybody who has turned on a radio in the last six months could sing that song in their sleep, Zoey.”
“Annnnnd?”
“Annnnnnnnd,” he continued, “fine. Didn’t think too much about it past that day. Some people don’t like Top 40s! I can live with that—respect it even. But you also don’t have any idea about 80s music! So unless you’re a secret screamo or indie fan, I’m just going to go ahead and assume that look on your face means you were too busy taking apart and immediately rebuilding all the radios in your parent’s house to actually listen to a single song… like, ever?”

Summary
Based on some songs and an audio from TikTok, this is probably my biggest story yet as I’ll publish the chapters every other day. Anyways, in an alternate universe where Riley and Chase are college roommates, and although they are complete opposites, one wanting to be an astrophysicist and the other wanting to live life to its fullest, they start to understand one another.
Alternatively:
Riley struggles to be social enough to help himself for his goals, so Chase helps him as they confront obstacles throughout their college year together. While that happens Chase’s interest on this audio consumes him as he ponders about saying it to someone he’s trying to find to love (not realizing he’s already right in front of him).
