Summary
When you are a normal talentless high school student, but at the same time gaga over Hope's Peak Academy, you will try to be " less normal " by achieving more than your peers.
That's what exactly Hajime Hinata did.
He achieved more, forgot about friendship and "socializing", and buried himself with academics. But alas, all his effort falls short to be recognized by the Main Course, but at the same time his efforts are enough to be recognized to be the best of the Reserve Course.
It seems like years of achieving, just isn't enough.
