Summary
After two years at The Eastern Towers, Vega is ready to leave. Despite having earned her corpimancy mastery within weeks of first arriving due to her background as a healer and tattoo artist, she's tired of the tattoos being essentially all most people will cast with her. Between her age, being nonbloodline, and her main casting partner having been gone for six months...she's about had enough. Vega came to study magic, after all, and she's getting fed up with the suffocating nature of boredom. One can only do so much theoretical research before they're sick of it, even as much as Vega loves learning.
She's on the verge of packing up and continuing to travel the continent with her parents when an envoy from The Crux shows up escorting a shipment of magiline. Vega gets assigned to show a fellow nonbloodline wizard named Dominai around, she finds that it's not quite so bad, once there's people not just willing but wanting to cast with her. And when she transfers to The Crux, she finds that her previously boring routine gets a whole lot spicer—particularly where it concerns a devastatingly beautiful Maeve named Cancassi.
