“Pull the trigger.”
Caitlyn’s hands shook as she gripped the gun, her pulse hammering in her ears. This definitely wasn’t what she signed up for.
“What?!” she hissed, eyes darting to Vi, whose steady gaze burned into her.
“Pull the trigger, cupcake.”
Caitlyn’s breath hitched. “Are you out of your mind? No!”
Vi exhaled, almost amused. “Fine then. I will.”
Before Caitlyn could react, Vi yanked her close, pressing the gun to her own chest and pulling the trigger. A sharp click echoed in the silence.
Nothing.
Caitlyn stared, horrified, as Vi shrugged.
“That’s what loving you feels like,” Vi murmured, voice quiet. “It’s handing you a loaded gun, pointing it at my heart, and hoping you never pull the trigger.”
OR
Caitlyn is a rising police cadet. Vi is the most dangerous woman in the underworld of Zaun. Forced into an uneasy alliance, both woman find themselves drawn to one another despite the inevitable. With a great threat on the rise, lines between justice and crime quickly start to blur.

She still has to sort out her feelings surrounding her mom, balance her Young Avengers training, and finish her degree. She's fine though, really, she loves keeping busy.
Yelena Belova is finally learning to let herself want things other than material goods. She has friends and family now, but she would prefer to not have to look over her shoulder 24/7, she would rather find a way to feel truly safe at the end of this. It's difficult, but she's trying.
There's something more between them, they both know this. It's only a matter of time before one of them reaches for it
