“Despite how unappealing it seemed to be, Percy gulped and squared his shoulders as he knelt down by the girl’s side. He tried to make himself as comfortable as possible before he hesitantly put his hands up until they made contact with the cold sky. And then he put some effort behind it and suddenly he felt like something was trying to squash him into a two-dimensional character.
“What…?” The girl’s eyes opened a little and she turned her head just enough to look at Percy.
His vision was a little blurry from the exertion but he could tell she was baffled by his presence there. “You needed help,” was all he managed to say before he groaned in pain and closed his eyes tightly.”

Percy has no idea why Kronos and Luke do the things that they do, but he has no other options left, really. So he does as he's told (most of the time) and kind of just thinks there's nobody else he can turn to for answers.
Until he meets Annabeth and crouches down to help her carry the sky. Then things start to steer in the right direction, at long last.

“I come here when I have nightmares,” Percy said casually, kicking his legs in the water.
That wasn’t a secret; everyone in camp felt the tremors in the earth when he had bad dreams.
The kid looked up at him with wet eyes. “What do you have nightmares about?” he asked, his demeanour hesitant but the question itself bold. Percy smiled at him.
-When Annabeth is ill, Percy wanders around camp all day. Sometimes he finds trouble, sometimes trouble finds him. But he's there to lend a hand to those who need it.

“This is kind of weird,” Peter says, letting Shuri tuck his hair under the wig. “Isn’t this kind of weird?”
“What’s weird?” Michelle asks, and Peter’s not really sure how to articulate any of this—the makeup, the hair, where all of it is going or not going—so he just shrugs, lets it happen. MJ and Shuri confer over arranging the wig, whether he’s got enough makeup on, and then MJ’s picking up a glossy red lipstick, raising her eyebrows at Shuri like she’s asking her opinion.
“Yes,” Shuri says. “Absolutely.”
This is the point at which Peter should say something, if he was gonna say something, but he just opens his mouth, lets MJ grab him by the jaw and angle his chin up so she can brush the sticky gloss over his mouth. Peter licks his lips, presses them together. Looks up at the both of them.
