Summary
When her parents wanted to start looking at prestigious secondary schools, the secretary they’d all gone to meet with acted as if Mr. and Mrs. Granger were children themselves. That woman had simply insisted their school carried a strict no tolerance policy towards bullying, with no additional comments. In contrast, the Department man first walked them through getting in touch with the Muggleborn Student Liaison at Hogwarts, and then the Muggle Relations and Complaints Office at the Ministry, if something more serious came up, and finally his very own business card with contact information, for the most extreme emergencies.
“Oh!” Hermione’s mother gasped when she saw the gilded print. “Oh my goodness- when you said, your department, why- I didn’t realize-”
Hermione craned her head, and blinked as the overhead light glinted off the shiny letters: Tom M.G. Riddle, Minister for Magical Education

Summary
Eight months ago, no-shit ghosts appeared for the first time, heralded by the terrifying lightning-cloud shadow shape of the Amity Park Phantom.
Six months ago, the Phantom and what can only be described as a hellhound annihilated Axion Labs, causing Damon Gray to be demoted and shattering the balance of Valerie Gray's life.
One day after that, a box arrived with a suit and instructions, and the Huntress took to the sky for the first time. Barely half a month later, her suit was destroyed, and she was given a new and terrifyingly responsive powered armor by an unseen benefactor right when she needed it most. She's hunted ghosts in as much of her spare time as possible ever since, even surrendering the boy she maybe loves in order to protect him better. As the son of the eccentric but capable local mad scientists, she hopes he'd understand if anyone ever learned who she actually is.
Sometime in the last thirty-six hours, thousands of monstrosities poured into Amity Park, and Valerie finds herself reluctantly fighting alongside the Phantom in a desperate defense. It's been nonstop, but she has to keep both her home and the ring she received yesterday safe. Even if it means putting herself on the line.

Summary
Valerie Gray is the Huntress, an efficient, effective vigilante protecting Amity Park and Elmerton from ghosts. Receiving an upgraded suit under mysterious circumstances only two weeks in has done nothing but make her more dangerous.
The Phantom is her enemy, rival, nemesis, target. A monster whose actions destroyed the foundations of her and her father's life. A wraith that tries to act like something more than a predator. She hates it.
The pieces are familiar. The board is set in an age-old pattern. By all means, the game should play out roughly the same, and its players should make the same choices.
But then, she chooses to stand and fight with the Phantom and Plasmius when Pariah Dark's army invades, allying with them instead of attacking them.
Then, she and the Phantom make a desperate last stand against the tyrant king himself instead of fleeing the battlefield, the Ring of Rage a tool instead of a distraction.
Then, she's killed by Pariah Dark's mace sending her into a solid steel upright pole. The last thing she knows is the King reclaiming his ring. Checkmate.
Then, she wakes back up, and the old game is upended to make room for something new.

Summary
Valerie Gray is really, honestly, kind of looking forward to getting back to school. It's something normal after a weekend of life-altering (and death-altering) revelations, conversations that somehow hurt worse than her death, and ghost fighting in a whole new way.
Too bad Wes Weston is waiting for her, somehow knows way too much, and isn't willing to let things go easily.
