Getting grabbed off the street after fighting off a monster was NOT how Bernard wanted to spend his night. They didn't even want a ransom or anything, they just threw him in a side room of their warehouse and left him there for hours. Where was a vigilante when you needed one?
Scratch that, they had nabbed the vigilante, too. And now they finally wanted something from him.

There weren't a lot of demigods in Gotham, but the city had a few. Like in any good city, they had their own underground network for sharing information, and recently, rumors were circulating about the murders of various clubbers and how they might be monster-related.
And, well, Bernard might be a self-respecting Gothamite who kept his nose out of other people's business, but he happened to like the club that seemed to be the epicenter and queer people already had it hard enough in Gotham and everywhere else without this killer adding to their struggles.
